I found one review for this online but I forget where now. One week away from street date I would expect to be hearing more. I see Ron is submitting a review this Friday so hopefully that will provide some info on the special features, specifically Danny Devito commentary. I know this kind of went in and out of theaters but I was kind of hoping this could find a second life on video. I think most fans of dark comedies will find this one hilarious but I found Supertroopers hilarious so what do I know? Perhaps fans of dark comedies were turned off by the presence of Robin Williams. The advertising made him out to be the star but he really had a supporting role. Don't get me wrong I loved him in this movie as I found this to be a return to his much dirtier comedic roots. But Edward Norton owns this movie. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves. Maybe people were put off initially because he seems to be doing an impersonation of Mathew McConnahay. I'm going to be getting this no matter what but I'm curious as to whether the commentary is worth a listen.

Heh...to each his own, but I did not like this movie at all. I really like Edward Norton and Robin Williams. Maybe I just missed the point of the movie. Please, someone change my mind and give me a reason to want to watch this movie again because I want to like it! [IMG]

Either you find the movie funny or you don't. But how can you not love all the songs? "My step dad is not mean... he's just adjusting" Well apparently a lot of people did not find this movie funny though I did not realize it at first. Perhaps me and my friend that I saw this with were laughing so hard we didn't notice that no one else in the theater was.

I won't be buying it outright. As much as I love Ed Norton, this still requires a trial run for me. It sure does seem like a love it or hate it film.

I watched the DVD last night and am slowly
    preparing a review.

I thought I would hate it. I actually liked it.

    More in the review.

I'd planned on picking it up. I like Robin Williams as an evil guy, it's quite a departure for him.

I'm looking forward to Insomnia too, as well as his new One Hour Photo. It's not showing anywhere near me that I can find.

Does anyone remember what the song was that Smoochie sings to the junkies at the clinic near the beginning? For that matter who knows what any of the songs where that were in the movie. Maybe I can find a few on mp3 unless they are available on CD soundtrack in which case I might go pick that up.

One other funny anecdote. The funniest moment when matching this film wasn't any particular joke, but when I was in the theater after a particular raunchy punchline I heard a loud giggle from what sounded like a 4 or 5 year old in the front of the audience during the afternoon showing. I couldn't stop laughing at the thought that a parent took their little one to this film thinking it was about Barney or something like that. Since the parent and child didn't leave I hope most of jokes went over the little ones head. That could warp them for life. I still have fuzzy memories of seeing National Lampoon's Vacation when I was like 3 at the drive in. I think I was supposed to be asleep in the backseat so who knows what young ones absorb?
