Now that Robert Zemeckis is preparing to direct a remake of the 1990 Nicholas Roeg film, which I cherish, might we have a nice Blu-ray of that original as part of your Archive series? The DVD is non-anamorphic (pan and scan, in fact) and looks crumby. Many thanks!

I second that emotion. ;) But seriously, why this isn't already available is a mystery to me and I'd love to purchase it in a quality Blu-ray edition. Please, WB?

Really love the original and throw my hat in the ring also for a Blu-ray upgrade. Deathtrap was done in this same open-matted format on DVD, and I couldn't stand watching it. The Blu-ray looks astonishing. I would hope The WItches is the same.

The only thing I didn't like about this movie is its insistence on softening the ending relative to the novel
by turning the main character back into a human, whereas in the novel he's stuck forever as a mouse.
I hope the remake doesn't do that.

But otherwise it was just about perfect as-is. There are lots of Roald Dahl books that haven't been filmed. I'm not sure why the studios keep feeling the need to go back to the same few.
