Why the incredible hold-up getting out a widescreen transfer of this seminal crime film? It was never issued on laser, either. Nominated for multiple Oscars, Capote's best screen adaptation, gorgeous widescreen B&W image, terrific jazz score by Quincy Jones, flawless acting by the cast, yadda yadda.

I'm right with ya, Dick. This would be a purchase for me the first day available for pre-order (maybe the whole Robert Blake murder thing is holding this one up).

I'd definitely buy a DVD of 'In Cold Blood'. One of the key movies of the 60's. The fact that it's not yet on DVD may not compare with the crime it deals with, but it's still a crime!

Probably my most wanted film on DVD as I it never came out OAR on Laser. A Classic that deserves a release (I hope that the recent troubles of Robert Blake doesn't scare off Columbia from releasing this DVD).

Put me down for this one as well. I, unfortunately, missed it when the Film Forum (in New York) showed a new 35mm print fairly recently. Have always loved the book and have only seen a cropped VHS version of the film. With dp Conrad Hall's passing, Columbia owes him atleast a decent, OAR presentation of one of his greatest works. Great movie...Robert Blake's sad real-life situation should have nothing to do with its release. I guess we should be mad at Columbia for sitting on this one, before Blake got into trouble. [IMG]
