Has anyone else seen the series The Dead Zone on USA? I've seen the last two weeks and think it's pretty good. It's based off characters from Stephen King's book of the same title. I think it makes Anthony Michael Hall to be a pretty good actor and finally getting away from his John Hughes movie geekiness.

My roommate is a huge King fan, so we have been watching this. It's not bad for a cable show. He says it's very close to the book.

Haven't seen an ep yet, but will be adding it to my TiVo list when I get home...

Micheal Piller is the creative force behind the series; you may remember him as one of the good guys behind TNG and DS9 before it all went to hell thanks to Berman-and-Braga...

Is this going to follow the book and then end?

Is John Smith going to die?

Is this a series or a mini-series? I've been enjoying the acting, too, and really like the premise. I would like to see it carry on past the book...

It's a series, and as near as I can remember, it's not really following the book at all, past the car accident that gives Johnny his power...

Granted it's made deviations from the book but it has kept pretty close.
The murdering cop was in it.
The reverend made a comment in ep. 1 regarding meeting with the senator that Johnny will ultimately end up killing.

Well they want to show to be more then 1 season so of course its not going to follow the book exactly. But the Senator will appear this season and more concepts from the book will appear

I watched ep. 3 last night. It's clear to me, now, that they are going their own way.

I've watched all three episodes and I really have enjoyed it so far. It reminds me a bit of Millennium.

It's good to see some of the non-premium cable channels put out some of their own programming. It's better than alot of the shows out on the major four networks.
