A 'try before you buy' scenario, I suspect.Well, I didn't see Survivors until the first season got a video release in the early 90s. Even though it was almost 20 years old at that point, I still found it to be an excellent series. Yes, it had dated somewhat and it was produced in the usual BBC method of videotape/film mix ( although many of the later eps were entirely videotaped ), but it had a hypnotic power that was impossible to resist. The episode 'Law & Order' is probably the most suspensful piece of drama I've ever seen on television. Then again, I may be biased as I've always loved post apocalyptic stories. I just wish the BBC would release their version of Day of the Triffids.
Speaking of BBC sci-fi, the classic Dr Who serial 'Talons of Weng Chiang' is released tomorrow![]()
