And I'm still using my DIY subs and speakers also. Quality components for DIY cost a little more but will last a lifetime if you take care of them.
Went in the trunk of my Taurus SHO.
Reverse the wiring on the sub, the first bass hit in Back to Black would suck the trunk lid closed if you held the trunk at 3" from the ports(trunk closed was 1/4 inch).
The front of the box was "glued and shielded" to the seat backs. Of course...that meant I built a ported IB sub. The stupid things you did...before the internet.
