These will do just as well as The Deadly Mantis and Tarantula , plus will most likely have a few supplements. Scream/Shout Factory has not announced them or given a release date and online retailers have jumped the gun.

I was actually referring to the AIP horror titles not the war ones for blu ray release: The She Creature, Earth vs. The Spider, Blood Of Dracula, How To Make A Monster, War Of The Colossal Beast, etc.

Sorry I had misread your post earlier. I thought you meant you didn't think any more AIP horror titles would make it to blu ray. My apologies.

Does any one know the status of The Brain Eaters, another AIP quickie? Public domain? Also I know Night Of The Blood Beast is public domain, but that one could use a nice upgrade too.

Isn't that how the Arkoff films were released by Lion's Gate? I have all of those releases on DVD.
Also , while on the subject of Susan Hart , the films she controls along with the Wade Williams films are among the most coveted
Sci-Fi / Horror titles for release on Blu-ray . The ones Susan Hart controls haven't even been released on DVD although they did make it to VHS.

Which why Hart and Wade Williams keep holding out. They probable figure with less and less classic horror/scifi titles left to release someone will eventually give in and pay them the higher fees they want.

With sales of physical media shrinking every year? Not bloody likely.

True and that is what also makes the likely hood of these ever being released on disc increasingly unlikely

I get that but the point is we are the ones losing out. Because they haven't moved on their price in over 10 years and show no sign of it so add in discs declining and the Hart owned AIP's are likely to never see a disc release unless someone decides to give in and pay which is doubtful but that was my point.

Agreed. I very much want 3D blus of Robot Monster and Cat Women of the Moon. Wade's been holding out for apparently unattractive terms with potential 3D restoration and distribution partners, and does not like the MST3K/Rifftrax/Cinematic Titanic treatment of his titles. In other words, he seemingly does not want to do business with the only partners who could give him any hope of monetizing these titles at this point. If he finds a distribution partner foolish enough to do a 2D-only distribution deal, neither he nor the partner will reap a cent. [Sigh] :(

    viking01.

    First things first!

Let's concentrate on what will (possibly) be available from THE ARKOFF COLLECTION 1950s AIP titles. And there are plenty of them outside the SF-Horror genre.

Just how far Shout! Factory intends to go with these, who can say?

Obviously these individuals can be reasonably dealt with which shows definite business acumen (and sound common good sense).

As for the "problematic" AIP titles that's what happens when outright "amateurs" get involved in the industry. They avariciously attempt to exploit it.

Fortunately to their own abysmal failure.

Anyway the impending blu-ray release of DAY THE WORLD ENDED (1956) is a significant breakthrough and one that I anxiously look forward to indeed.

I hope that the disc pressing will be made from a good quality video master with the original "Superscope" widescreen dimensions retained.

And if possible the theatrical trailer also included.

    Great things are happening!

    rock01.
