Anchor Bay doesn't have DAWN anymore. In fact, I don't think anyone has licensed it. I think Cliff Mac said the company that owns it wants a fortune for it.

Yeah, unfortuntately some of the companies that own these titles don't seem to realize the ecomony isn't what it was 10 or 15 years ago.

The new owners of DAWN leased the movie to a local theater chain so that they could finally play it at their midnight showing. Apparently they did want a larger sum than most right holders as ticket prices had to be raised to $10 (from the normal $5).

Pretty sure DAWN has the same owners it has always had, but they've changed their name to New Amsterdam Entertainment. They only own 3 films, DAWN OF THE DEAD, MARTIN, and THE NIGHT FLYER, which might explain why they want so much money to license them. (An incredibly stupid position, by the way. Instead of trying to strike a deal with Criterion or Shout or Synapse, companies that would treat the films correctly, and make some money, ask for a fortune and get none.)
