A Look at DVD Concert Releases
    from Image Entertainment

    by David Tolsky

I’m not going to claim that I’m the ultimate Rundgren fan.
I still love to play CD's from the Utopia years, but I’ve pretty much lost touch with his music since Nearly Human. My fondest memories of Todd’s music date back to high school and early college years. The fact that Todd’s music has succeeded in more than three decades is a testament to his continuous re-invention of himself. In fact, it’s a good bet that somewhere during your rock music appreciation, you’ve hummed or sung a song performed, written, or engineered by Todd Rundgren.
With the release of Image Entertainment’s DVD concert, Todd Rundgren, Live in Japan, I thought it would be a good time to review all of Image’s Rundgren DVD’s. The amazing thing you’ll discover (or that you die-hards already know) is that each disc shows us a different phase of Rundgren’s work.
