For future reference, finding out whether or not a title is anamorphic or not is generally quite easy to do by looking at online reviews.
This site has reviews from many popular DVD review sites.

it's not anamorphic, and it's not a particularly good transfer either.
I agree. I was a little disappointed. But still, I am a Dune fan, so I'm happy to own this title no matter how good or bad the transfer is.

Now if only they would release the Shogun mini-series on DVD, I'd have another of my favorite books/movies with a bad transfer!

I'd love to see more mini-series on DVD. I've bought "Roots", "QB7", and "The Blue and The Gray". I'd kill to to get "Shogun" & "The Thorn Birds" & "The Winds of War" and "War and Remembrance"!
