David Lee Roth. I liked Sammy in Montrose and as a solo artist, but I never much cared for his work with Van Halen.

I'd love Dave just for Women in Love. Great, great song.

Those are some fine albums. Women and Children is good, too, but for some reason it just doesn't feel as good. Can't explain it. I do love 1984, though. 'bout the only Diamond Dave VH I don't much care for is Diver Down.

Yeah, David. When I think of VH I think of a fun, crazy, wild band (what rock bands should be) and sorry, Sammy don't cut it for me.

As for Van Halen David Lee Roth for sure.

However I equally like Sammy Hagar on his own, my favorite SH album is Standing Hampton.

And Van Hagar is ok, but it just doesn't seem like Van Halen without DLR.

When DLR was with the band the shows were good but lasted 90 minutes at best. The shows with Sammy could run close to 3 hours
3 hours is a very long time for the Sammy shows. They would

usually run about 2 hours long at the most. Not much longer

than the David era shows - some '84 show were about 2hrs.
