Hey, is anyone else extremely excited about this game? I certainly am. I mean, I still play the first two games all the time, especially JK!
Im wondering when this game comes out. Can someone help me?

Confusing name though. It should be Dark Forces III or Jedi Knight II.

Kinda reminds me of the Heretic II and Hexen II situation...

Donny, everyone keeps saying sometime in March. There's a quicktime trailer available at the official Jedi Outcast website.

Has there been any word on an Xbox port of this? I don't think my PC could handle that kind of app anymore...

Plus, 5.1 and a big screen would be nice...

ooo... me want. Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II was one of my favorite FPS of All Time... so I hope this one turns out to be just as good. (Damn... now I need to get a new video card [IMG] )

If it can match the Zen-like brilliance of the Falling Ship level from Dark Forces II, we just might have ourselves a winner [IMG].

Wow, those screen shots look awesome. I didn't have the first 2 games, because my computer was never good enough.... for either of them! But now that I've seriously upgraded, this one just jumped to the top of my buy list, along with Duke Nukem Forever.

Yeah, I am looking forward to this game... though it's still #2 behind Soldier of Fortune: Double Helix on my most likely to actually be released soon list of FPS games. I wish I could add Duke Nukem Forever to that list [IMG] Hurry up 3D Realms!
I think this should run peach on my p3 733, with 384 megs of ram and a 32 meg GeForce 2 GTS card. The levels look large and nice but fortunately not too detailed in terms of polygons, so it should run smoothly. SoF 2 on the other hand... I might need to pick up a GeForce 4 for at some point [IMG] This gaming thing sure is expensive! I want a xbox too at some point, heh.

Man this game is going to rule! Just as I thought Rogue Squadron II for the Gamecube was the best Star Wars title ever, along comes this. I can't wait.

BTW: This is being developed by Raven, which makes great first person & third person shooters, so it should be another great game.

I don't know about the 3rd person view...reminds me too much of yuck, tomb raider. I remember playing Dark Forces on my mac in beautiful 640x480 while the rest of the PC world were stuck playing it in 320x240 or whatever low pixelated crappy res they had.

    Mike,

If it's anything like Dark Forces 2 you will be able to toggle between 1st and 3rd person views.

I must not upgrade...I must not upgrade...I must not upgrade...!

If this game lives up to it's potential I'll be hardpressed not to do this!

Does anyone how far one can take a Intel BX440 motherboard up the CPU path? Is a PIII 700 achievable? I'm guessing this will be the needed plateau to run this game effectively.

Does anybody know what the system requirements are for this game? I can't find it at all on the official site. Methinks I'll be using part of my tax refund to upgrade...
By the way, I was browsing their galleries and noticed the Heavy Repeater weapon is back. I cannot begin to express how happy that makes me...the HR was my all-time favorite gun! [IMG]

    Lou,

It depends on who made your board. If you have the right 440BX board you could take it as high as 1Ghz. But the 440BX is missing so many of todays modern features that it would be worth the money to upgrade to a VIA KT266A based board and then get an Athlon XP and 256MB PC2100 DDR-RAM.

Now about system specs, from the looks of it I would imagine you would need something around a 750Mhz Atlon/P3, 256MB RAM, with atleast a GeFORCE 2 Pro to get a decent frame rate out of it. The only reason why I think a GeFORCE 2 Pro would do good is the fact that its built on the Quake 3 engine, though it is a HEAVILY modified Q3 engine.
