    Hi all..

Anybody else excited about this one? I love this movie and have the first release. I like the look of the packaging for the for new release. Kinda reminds me of the LOTR EE dvd's.

    R~

I'm excited about it but I don't know if I'll be able to buy it, once it comes out...

Since I already have the SE, and the Superbitª edition, I'm not sure I should go there...

Neither would I mark, unless your a hardcore fan but since I own neither I'll pick up this collector edition. I wish they release a CE of Labyrinth I like that one more but I still love Dark Crystal.

There is indeed another edition of Labyrinth coming out too, which I imagine will be exactly like this Dark Crystal package. So what exactly is it, anyway? It is the Superbit version on one disc, and the version with the extras on another disc?

I remember loving this as a kid, but I'm worried that I won't like it as an adult. So long ago... [IMG]

The Dark Crystal box set does *not* include DTS so you can't really consider this box set a super-bit DVD with a separate disc of extras. Is Sony trying on purpose to screw consumers by making them buy a movie 3 times if they want every feature????

Really a shame...you'd think that it would at least give you all the picture/sound quality/options you had on the SB version along with the "extras" on disc two.

I'm extra bummed because I'd have purchased them if they had DTS and sold off my SB copy....and would have also gotten Labyrinth hopefully to get a "corrected" DTS track...but if no DTS on that box set either it sort of ticks me off.

At least we get DTS on the P/S "Annie SE" coming out [IMG]

I'm surprised at how much advertising this set is getting, I never thought of DC as that big a movie, is it that popular?

ARE there any new extras on this? I thought I had read that the "new" extras that are mentioned in the Amazon listing are all PRINT extras and not on the DVD itself. My understanding that this release was a repackaging similar to the recent release of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Considering the considerable price and the minimal new features, I won't buy this. You can get the SEs of both Labyrinth and Dark Crystal for less than this new release.

Wait, so this is a new disc? What did they add/remove from the old one?

Hmm, this review makes it sound like the same exact disc.

Amazon.com doesn't have isolated film score listed but DeepDiscountDVD.com does so I think it has all the same features as before and then some new ones.

It doesn't matter what the online retailers list. The Collector's Edition DVD does not have the isolated score. You're paying $30 extra for some minimal added DVD content and super-swell packaging--but you're missing the isolated score that's on the $20 DVD.
