I would be curious for the answer to this as well. I have pretty consistant circles, James Dean style, under my eyes most of the time and I am usually careful to get enough sleep. Hm.

Dark circles around the eyes can be from allergies especially in children. My youngest always had dark circles under his eyes, constant runny nose. It turned out he had large adenoids. Since he had them taken out the circles are gone and he no longer has the problem of a runny nose. This is more common in children than adults.

    It could be...Allergic Rhinitis

Last summer I developed dark circles under my eyes and everybody I knew started to comment on them. Eventually I went to see the doctor and it turned out to be colon cancer. Following surgery my dark circles are gone.

I don't mean to suggest that you have a potentially fatal disease, but if these circles are new, and you're not just fatigued, I'd get it checked out. An ounce of prevention and all that....

My wife says that dark circles sometimes are caused by too much mascara[IMG]

My son has dark circles because of allergies.
I would look into the possiblity of allergies.

You could go gothic and wear white face makeup and it wouldn't matter.

Yumi, are you saying eating cake made by girlfriends causes the circles? [IMG]

    What's an adenoid, BTW?

They can be called 'Allergic Shiners'. Typically found with anyone with Allergy and/or Sinus problems.
