Just wondering if I should attempt this. I have 4, 20 minute shows I converted to audio, and I need about an extra minute or so on the CD that I don't have. It's an 80 minute CD, so I'm wondering if I should overburn it?

would it harm the CD Player? Would the CD be unworkable? Any ideas?

    Thanks!

As long as your drive is capable of overburning it, you should be fine. It won't harm the CD, but there always is the possibility of making a coaster. It's just one CD-R, so give it a try. Couldn't hurt. [IMG]

What about those warnings about actually harming the writer? Does that actually happen? I overburn fairly often, and keep wondering when I'm going to hit that wall...

Same here [IMG]. Mine is barley a year, and it's a Creative Labs 12X10X32. I beleive I got the thing around the time Enterprise started airing "Broken Bow" for the first time [IMG].

Hah! Now that's a true HTF'er: measuring time by the first airing of a Trek episode! [IMG]

$150? Shoot, nowadays, you can quite a nice, speedy CD burner for half that. I've seen them with a rebate for around $50.

yeah, you can get a very capable CD writer for $60 US (no coupons or rebates needed either!), like a Lite-On 32x12x40x CD writer. Excellent drive!
