Hello Everyone,

I have found something bizarre on the internet, both on Ebay and Google. It's the complete series of Dallas but NOT the giant box collection of individual seasons that has been out there for a while now (the one with all the double sided discs). What I have seen is the more "Walmart-special" kind of box with two chunky DVD cases inside that we see for most big TV on DVD sets these days.
What I want to know is: is this even real? Was Dallas released this way with single sided discs in a complete set?
I will post pictures and people can let me know if this is even real.

Thank you.

With no catalog number on the spine I'd say it looks fishy. There are some very convincing-looking boots abound. I got a free fake Maude set that had everything from the Shout! box reproduced including the fully-bound mini book inside, even the hype sticker on the front, except the discs were all cheap, single layer dvd-fab'd copies (pressed, though!) and no printing on the inside of the box.

Complaining to the seller got the "It's for my sister's operation" excuse, one of two popular ones with the other being some form of, "I didn't know it was fake. If you don't report me, keep it and here's your $ back."

There's a mega Law & Order box set that's been circulating for years-- I think it was a boot to begin with, even fooling some early reviewers who didn't have the product in hand. I've never known of anyone to get anything but a crappy, single-layer, barely playable set even though it includes a booklet/episode guide, a back page hype sheet and screen printing on the pressed discs.

Bootleggers have become quite meticulous in the last decade. Just know if the set seems too cheap to be real, it probably isn't.
