You need a color analyzer or optical comparator with lap top and software to properly set your greyscale to D6500K.

The equation is:

Y = .3 R + .59 G + .11 B

Where Y = luminence (the black and white signal).

As Michael has pointed out, this equation does no immediate good. However, as you learn to gray scale balance, you will see how different amounts of color will affect the balance.
