I currently have a Dish 6000 receive and get Dish networks HDTV offerings. I do not get ota HD signals. Would I be able to record HD programs with a D-VHS recorder?

As long as it is specifically a D-VHS D-Theater recorder, and, as of this writing, there is only one such model on the market: the JVC HMD30000.

Only if your output allows for ieee.

The DVHS will not record HDTV otherwise. I'm pooched on that front currently.

I don't think the Dish 6000 has the correct ieee output. Oh well.
