Custom enclosure and speaker placement help (1 Viewer)

What do you think about using a bookshelf speaker and mounting it partially in the ceiling? See the following diagram:

Also here is my speaker placement:

My challenge is I can not place the front speakers on the floor or on stands per the walkway and the fireplace get in the way. There is no wall above the TV so wall mounting is out. My wife does not want speakers that hang too far from the ceiling and I want to get better sound than I would from in the ceiling flush mount speaker. Any thoughts. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

With your limitations it might be a good idea. If it were me, I would move the TV/front soundstage to the opposite wall.

Unfortunatly I can not move the TV, the other walls are full of windows.
