Curse of Chucky, budgeted at $5MM, takes the Child’s Play franchise back to the more traditional horror roots it started out with, in a direct-to-video sequel that’s more polished and tauter than the smaller budget suggests. What’s delightful, and I don’t want to give anything away, is how it cleverly accounts for and accommodates the rest of the series. Released in 4K from Scream Factory in an edition that’s sure to delight fans of the franchise, Curse of Chucky has never looked better.
