For various reasons, I am thinking about finally upgrading my trusty ol' DMC-FZ20. The obvious choice seems to be the DMC-FZ300, but I've been out of the photography loop for a while. Are there any other sub-$500 cams I should be considering?
This is mainly for personal travel, sports, and nature shooting. Something compact but flexible.
I read the dpreview roundup (https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/2017-roundup-consumer-long-zoom-compacts/10), and the 300 came out on top, although they recommended saving up for the FZ1000's larger sensor. Hm, I see that one's now under $700. Not weatherproofed, though. And can I get that extra $200 through the Wifey Filter? Doubtful. Anyhoo. . .
