Im sure you cool peeps here have had this question fly around the board before but since I just started coming here, I thought I would ask.
Can I take my current sub and take off the driver and amp, then put in a differnt cabinet? Like a sonosub tube or something like that.
If it would be possible, would I get a big difference in performance?

is it possible, sure. big diffrence? probably not.
sell the old sub and use the cash to buy parts for DIY. probably a better way of using the parts. [IMG] J6p reading the sunday clasifieds might want your old sub.

Unless you can get the specs on the existing driver, you could easily wind up with a sub that sounds much worse than what you already have. I'd agree with selling the existing sub for parts.

    Or...
I have considered getting a Adire Audio Rava sub. If I'm not happy with it I can take the driver and plate amp and make a nice little sub out of it.

Well, if anyone knows anything about my sub (DefTech pf15), then any advice would be helpful.
