Over at DVDShrine, they say that CTHV is releasing a Special Edition of the 6TH Day on Jan 22nD on DVD.
They don't have any further details.
Since this is a special edition announcement, I don't think this will be a superbits. At least not on this edition.

Strange. Weren't all of the special features pulled off the original Region 1 release a month of so before street date?
    Regards,

Also, anyone going to buy this?
I'm not interestes in the extras so, without the addition of a DTS track, I will not re-purchase this title.

This is a perfect example of a worthless re-release. They throw in a couple "featurettes" which usually tell you nothing about this movie you don't already know if you've seen it. I doubt they will or can do anything with the transfer since it was excellent. Easy decision on this one...

This sucks, considering CTHV pulled supplements from the US release at the 11th hour. I bought the first disc, and normally I'm one to upgrade, but I won't be doing it this time out of protest (also, I didn't really enjoy the movie, and it has migrated in and out of the "to sell" pile).

    Luis,
I too am disappointed that CTS didn't include a DTS track on this SE of 6th. I never bought the first edition and I won't be buying this SE either.
I guess I'll be holding out for a "possible" Superbit edition down the road. I'm dreaming but....

Quite disappointing. The extras are not enough to make me want to re-purchase this title. A dts track would, though.

The only Columbia/TriStar DVDs that I can recall that have a DTS sound track are as follows...
    Desperado- Superbit
    The Fith Element- Superbit
    Johnny Neumonic- Superbit
    Air Force One- Superbit
    Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon- Superbit
    Men In Black- Spielberg
    Mask of Zorro:SE- Spielberg
    Close Encounters- Spielberg
And the yet to be released...
    Bram Stoker's Dracula- Superbit
    Gattaca- Superbit
Groundhog Day:SE- the oddball "non-Superbit" and "non-Spielberg" title.

    Darren, you can add:
    Bram Stoker's Dracula - Superbit
    Gattaca - Superbit
    and
    Groundhog Day SE
to your list of R1 Columbia DTS discs.

Jay, I'am a little surprised that CTHV didn't add a DTS track. Why? Why not? I mean, they put a friggin DTS track on GHD:SE, why not add one to a film that would utilize DTS?
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure GHD will sound great, but adding DTS to T6D:SE would have been an easy sell IMO. Sorry CTHV, but the extras alone are not worth a re-purchase in my book.
    L
P.S. Yes, I will be purchasing GHD:SE in DTS

They are are doing a 2 disc special edition of The Sixth Day and they don't include a DTS track which we all know they have for the R2 release? There's no excuse for this.
They better include one on their special edition of Starship Troopers, that's all I have to say.

Bringing this back to the top because it seems that the Groundhog Day: Special Edition DVD does NOT contain a DTS track afterall.
