Culver City, Calif. (July 14, 2002) - Shamus McCoy is the
coolest, hippest, sexiest private detective imaginable and
Oscar-nominated actor Burt Reynolds ("Boogie Nights") brings him to life
in SHAMUS, coming to DVD for the first time on Sept. 24 from Columbia
    TriStar Home Entertainment.
McCoy's lusty, bawdy and action-filled adventures are the
perfect star vehicle for the macho Reynolds and beautiful Dyan Cannon
(Best Supporting Actress nominee for 1978's "Heaven Can Wait" and 1970's
"Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice"), who share tender moments amid the mayhem
that begins with a baffling murder by a flame-throwing killer.
When the murder is linked to a million-dollar diamond theft,
Shamus McCoy is called into action. It's his task to find the killer and
the stolen gems. But his digging uncovers some disturbing connections,
and McCoy realizes the owner of the diamonds is looking for more than
just his property: There's a scheme on to sell surplus military weapons
    on the black market.
It's up to Shamus McCoy to bring the evil-doers to justice -
and to make sure there's time to devote to his mistress.
Featuring a music score by Oscar-winning composer Jerry
Goldsmith ("Chinatown," "The Omen"), SHAMUS also marked the screen debut
of Emmy-nominated character actor John Glover.
SHAMUS: Columbia Pictures Presents a Robert M. Weitman
