Making Its DVD Premiere on July 16

Culver City, Calif. (May 16, 2002) - Oscar winners and film

legends Sean Connery ("The Untouchables") and Audrey Hepburn ("Roman

Holiday") star in director Richard Lester's revisionist look at the

legend of Robin Hood, ROBIN AND MARIAN, coming to DVD for the first time

on July 16 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

In this lush 1976 film, director Lester ("A Hard Day's

Night," "Superman II") and screenwriter James Goldman ("The Lion in

Winter," "Nicholas and Alexandra") imagine what happens when Robin Hood

makes his return to Sherwood Forest after spending years in exile. He

finds that his deep feelings for Maid Marian have not changed, nor have

his battles with the evil Sheriff of Nottingham come to an end.

A wistful and nostalgic tale of love and redemption, coupled

with the adventure and action that have come to be hallmarks of the

Robin Hood legend, ROBIN AND MARIAN offers gorgeous photography, a lush

score by composer John Barry and a romantic screen pairing unlike any

    other.

ROBIN AND MARIAN: Also starring Robert Shaw, Richard Harris,

Nicol Williamson, Denholm Elliott, Kenneth Haigh, Ian Holm. Executive

Producer Richard Shepherd. Produced by Denis O'Dell. Screenplay by James

    Goldman. Directed by Richard Lester.
