Gena Rowlands Delivers Her Most Memorable Performance

    ***********************
    GLORIA
    ************************
Debuting on DVD February 25 from
    Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment

    * * * * Culver City, Ca. (1/7/03) -- Gena Rowlands, in an
    Oscar-nominated performance
for Best Actress (1980), creates what is arguably her most memorable
    role as GLORIA, the
ex-gun moll and showgirl with a warm heart as tough as gold.

    * * * * Director (and Rowland's husband) John Cassavetes, known for his
    unique approach to
filmmaking, creates a powerful tension-filled story. An accountant (Buck
    Henry) is in
possession of a ledger which could put a number of mob bosses behind
    bars for a long time.
Before he is killed, however, he manages to entrust the ledger and his
    son to a neighbor,
Gloria, for protection. The woman reluctantly takes the kid on the run
    while keeping the
mob at bay, sometimes at the point of a gun. Finally, tired of running,
    she decides to
    confront them head on.

    * * * * GLORIA was written and directed by John Cassavetes and produced
    by Sam Shaw. Music
by Bill Conti. Also starring Buck Henry, John Adames, Julie Carmen, Lupe
    Guarnica.

By the way, this film is a personal favorite
of mine ("I'm the man!") and I am looking forward
to doing an early review of it.

    Oh my God!

    Didn't even look at that.

If this is indeed true, Columbia is going to
be raked over the coals for this decision.

    Full Screen Presentation
    Audio: English 5.1 Dolby Digital

    Now that is funny.

The blind is leading the blind.

Oh, I am so sorry, but you should see my
    laughter on this end.

It would be funny if it wasn't so embarrasing [IMG] Gives a whole new meaning to the expression "seeing red". About the only thing I can say in my defense is that when I saw "SPECIAL FEATURES" heading followed by "Full Screen Presentation" I felt so outraged I could hardly finish reading... A lesson learned [IMG]

Dvd's are like a box of chocolets, you never know what your going to get. At least till you open it.
