Any chance CTHV could cancel this DVD release and give some of their older movies like
    Happy Birthday To Me
    Radio Flyer
    Best Of The Best
    The DVD treatment ?
I think I will pass on Glitter. Maybe when The Rock and Mariah are in a movie together I will buy that.
    Sorry For The Sarcasm.
    Regards,
    Ricky

Does her character in this movie have repeated 'nervous breakdowns' and leave paranoid rantings on her web site?

They should let Howard Stern and the gang provide audio commentary...then I would buy it. I loved when they ragged on her website messages for her "lambs."

Short of them re-editing the movie so that Mariah Carey is completely nude [IMG] for the full running time, you can bet no one will be buying this steaming pile of rancid elephant dung.
On the other hand... if they let Mariah get all coked up and insane before the recording of a commentary track, that could be very entertaining! Hell, I'd probably buy it for that!
Mariah should get together with Anne Heche so they can discuss other dimensions together. [IMG]

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I swore 20th Century Fox released this theatrically. How do they not have the rights?
    ------------
er...FOX were so embarassed by this fluff they secretly sold it to CTS? [IMG]
    -----------
Someone posted, on AICN, in a satirical reference to the glut of 'remakes' coming up, that the studio ought to go ahead now and remake GLITTER, with JLo starring as Carey...thus sparing us the pain later...

Columbia must be a typo as Fox clearly had the misfortune of releasing this film...maybe this film just "looks" like a Columbia release or something, who knows.
Man, you couldn't even get ME to see this film!

But Moe... if you'd seen it, much like Battlefield Earth you would certainly never forget it. And the word "powerful" could be referring to the powerful urge to vomit every time you think of the time you've just wasted watching it.
Of course, I'd buy it if they'd put in a little pop-up window every 30 seconds of Mariah Carey in various naughty nude poses. It would go quite nicely with the commentary track where she says stuff like "This is the scene where the voices in my head from the planet Krondac speaking through my fillings told me that I should look wistful and sad. TEE HEE! Time to shoot up some more smack!"

I'm guessing Sony -- which still controls her music catalog -- had something to say about the video distribution of this fine, fine film.
I'm curious as to what poor ol' Vondie Curtis-Hall has to say about this epic on his commentary track. "They paid me a lot people-- a lot!"
My friend at Fox told me that one of the reasons that the film kept being delayed was due to Mariah Carey trying to reedit certain scenes HERSELF. Aaaah!

Having seen this abomination theatrically, I can say that it probably is worth several laughs if watching at home with a bunch of friends. I'm sure it's hilarious then, but it isn't nearly as funny when you spend a lot of time looking at your watch.
Interesting point about the music catalog ties. Still curious if CTS is truly releasing this (not because I'm going to bother with it--just a semantics issue).
