The only one of the three I don't have is the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within disc. I did rent it and watched *some* of the supplementals and they frankly didn't interest me all that much. I rented it because I didn't want to buy it unseen and now, with a pre-order discount, it would be worth buying.

Anyone else think it's really amusing to see a film like Final Fantasy stood alongside Lawrence Of Arabia and Close Encounters, much less being called a "classic" [IMG]?

It's weird, but the front and especially the back of Final Fantasy doesn't mention anywhere that it has a DTS track on this one. Go figure. [IMG]

The covers aren't bad. Heck, Close Encounters leaves a bit more mystery that was ruined and spoiled for ya with the orignal 2-disc SE. It's nice to see that CTS is releasing them with new art so we can further distinguish them from their SEs.

Though Lawrence of Arabia's is a bit too blue...

Personally, I think the only re-release that CTS could do right now to get a good response would be some of their MAR-only titles such as The Karate Kid in 16/9 enhanced widescreen format.

And those two classics are great enrollment selections for the (aptly named) Columbia House DVD club.

    That's how I got them....

FF was a bomb, both in theaters and on DVD. Why are they releasing it again? Wouldn't the people who actually planned on buying have preferred the other version over the new one?
