I agree. Thumbs down to CTHV. This has nothing to do with us being spoiled either. We know that Ridley Scott has Scott Free Productions working on a Special Edition of this film. This is not even mentioned in the press release. At least some other studios let you know upfront that a SE is in the works.

You know what? I may have bought both DVDs anyway. However, given the way CTHV has handled this, I'm not gong to buy this version. I'm holding out for the Scott Free Productions SE DVD release. I just can't help but feel like CTHV has tried to pull one over on the DVD viewing public.

    Regards,

I agree, Dan. They should have held off from releasing this until they did it right. I'm sure most people wouldn't mind waiting a few more months for real extras and a DTS track.

I normally don't care about extras, but with this movie and the real-life circumstances, I want them as well as the DTS track.

So, do we have a release date for the Scott version? If it's anytime reasonable, I'll wait for that rather than support CTHV.

I could really care less about how the film was made.

Just as long as a new cut is not provided in future releases, I would buy this release.
