is Out of This World in the Hilarious Full-Length Feature Film

    ************************************************** *******
    THE THREE STOOGES IN ORBIT
    ************************************************** *******
New to DVD on November 25

    * * * * Culver City, CA (September 15, 2003) - Blast off for outrageous humor and zany
antics with the slaphappy astro-nuts The Three Stooges in the wildly funny full-length feature
film THE THREE STOOGES IN ORBIT (1962), premiering on DVD November 25 from
    Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

A riotous romp through outer space and beyond to intergalactic laughs, THE THREE
STOOGES IN ORBIT stars the madcap trio in a science-fiction farce in which a pair of Martians
tries to steal an all-powerful military weapon. *It's up to our lovable funnymen to stop these
    extraterrestrial invaders. *

Struggling to make it as television stars after being evicted from their apartment, Moe,
Larry and Curly Joe answer an ad for roommates and find themselves in a gloomy mansion run
by an eccentric scientist, who has invented a rocket-like contraption that is being sought after by
Martians planning to destroy the Earth. *When the Stooges accidentally launch the scientist's
new invention, they come face-to-face with the Martian invaders and all hilarity breaks loose. *
As the Martians are flying away with the weapon, the Stooges hang on and force it to crash-land
in a television studio. *Fortunately, their wacky adventures provide the trio with the material they
need to keep their show on the air.

Is it me or were these later stooges films just really awful?

Not to say that it's them or you. The later films show the age of the actors, but are nostalgic gems for those of us who were young during their discovery by us in the early sixties.

Ron, thanks for the press release. While I myself have only a mild interest in the 3 stooges (I own the 4 pack DVD that came out a few years ago) a friend of mine is a real big Stooges fan, and this might find its way in to his hands for Christmas.

I like the later Three Stooges movies very much, especially this one. For fans of the old Curly, Columbia is also releasing "Three Stooges at Work" in Janaury which consists of five vintage Curly short films.

Awful or no, this is absolutely wonderful news to someone who saw this at six years of age when the movie was released. I was (and still am) terrified of those Martians.

While their later feature films do pale in comparison to their earlier shorts they are still enjoyable especially when compared to what passes for comedy films these days.
This one is probably my favorite of their features.

The only Stooges feature film that I have
seen bits and pieces of is Snow White
    and The Three Stooges
    . Is that considered
a pretty decent Stooges film? Is it out on DVD?

Snow White and the Three Stooges is not out on DVD yet. It is generally considered by most Stooges fans as their worst feature film(too many songs and Ice skating). However many and myself included would probably still buy it especially since it is their only color film and only scope film. Those two factors would be its biggest appeal. I recommend you check out or maybe just rent some of the other feature films Columbia has released.

    So far they have:
The Three Stooges go Around the World
    The Outlaws is Coming
and of course the just announced
    The Three Stooges in Orbit

Their feature films that still have not been released are:

    Have Rocket, Will Travel
Snow White and the Three Stooges
    The Three Stooges Meet Hercules

SNOW WHITE AND THE THREE STOOGES is owned by Fox. Last year, the Fox Movie Channel showed a beautiful 2.35:1 widescreen print aching for DVD release. This is considered by Stooge fans as their worst, but it would still make a nice DVD.

All the other features are from Columbia, so I'm certain they'll all make it to DVD. Hopefully MEET HERCULES is next.

I think Meet Hercules will be next because Columbia's pattern to release these so far has been in reverse chronological order.

I agree Randy, and the shorts they release are even more random. You like the Stooges and Hammer: a man after my own heart.
