Good thing I never bought the DVD when it was first released. Can't beat getting the first movie on DVD and a movie ticket for the sequel.

What's with all the free tickets? MovieCash pay the theater for the admission, so do these free tickets count towards Box Office takings or not? Are the studios really "paying" to inflate their box office returns?

We don't have free tickets (not like this anyway, given away with DVDs) in the UK so I'm just curious.

I'll go with the superbit version for the new transfer and DTS.

I think they count, and I'm pretty sure the studios end up paying for it one way or the other. I see it as more of an incentive to purchase the DVD set, which is a greater profit than a single movie ticket.

Has CTHE confirmed an all-new transfer for the Superbit? Some sites report that, others don't mention the transfer at all.

I'll be waiting for some reviews to report an actual improvement in A/V quality as well.

This sounds like a nice package for those who didn't already buy the original 2-disc version.

It is not for me, but I am interested in getting a better image quality if the superbit delivers. Is there a release date set for the superbit?

Same day as the deluxe edition, June 1. According to the other Spiderman thread here, which quotes the CTS press release, the superbit will have a new anamaphoric widescreen transer.

Columbia must think that we are a bunch of morons who will buy the same crap over and over again just for the sake of getting new extras. It is about the film after all....I have it already on the original release so why should I buy another for the same damn transfer and a bunch of crumbs for new extras? These multiple re-releases that the studios keep throwing out to the buying public like yesterday's garbage has got to stop.[IMG]

    There.....rant over. I feel much better.[IMG]

Not likley to happen. Multiple releases mean possible multiple sales. It is all about sales.

Eh. I might get the Superbit one, but forget the deluxe edition. It's basically the same damn DVD as before, but with promotional crap for Spider-Man 2.

    [IMG] to this stupid release.
