    Agreed..

I like his character, but the actor needs to read up on the bios of Shelly Long and David Caruso..

I don't know what his problem could be, but for prima-donna syndrome..

I just think they are mixing it up a little, that isn't necessarily bad. I like Sopia!

I don't think he has prima donna syndrome. He was in movies - starring in movies - loooooong before CSI popped up. Very different from Long and Caruso.

Peterson's complaint is more valid because he is the executive producer of the show. The spin-offs do nothing more than dilute the impact of his show and availability of good writers and such.

I read that a lot of the time Peterson is blowing wind. He plans on staying with the show.

I wanted to smack Eckley. The Swarmy jerk. [IMG]

Is that a cross between swarthy and smarmy? [IMG]

Yeah, that new boss needs to be smacked big time. Little man in big need of a power trip.

On another note. This was my very first episode of CSI since getting my 6208 HD/PVR. I was so happy with the way this looked. [IMG]

Didn't Peterson just extend his contract for a few more seasons?

I missed this episode. Nice CBS, air when on thanksgiving when no one is watching.

Why would no one be watching? I'd think it's a perfect time for a large audience.

Football's over. The meal is over. Hopefully the in-law's have hit the bricks. You've just finished clean-up and collapse onto the couch in time for "CSI"

I think they are making a mistake by going all "Soap Opera" with the show. This season has been a lot better than last with fresh writing and perspectives. No need to have a "villain". I won't mind seeing more of Sophia, though. Quite attractive.

This "split" could lead to some interesting possibilities.

    1) They leave things the way they are after the shake up for the forseeable future. Gil and Catherine now have to compete for lab resources and Ecklie gets to ride Gil much like the Sheriff did in seasons 1 and 2. I'd give this a high probablity.

    2) This is this season's "arc", much like Gil's hearing or Sara's drinking problem. The story goes with Ecklie pushing Gil's buttons for the rest of the season, but something happens in or around the lab that forces Ecklie to resign. (Could be anything from political suicide, mismanagment of the lab, cases from Ecklie's past come back to haunt him, etc, etc). Person picked to take over Ecklie's position: Gil Grisom. Gil is back to being the "boss", but now he has to deal with the politics of the position. I'd give this a medium probablity.

Steve "And I like how they did this as a mid-season cliff hanger." Peterson

    I can't stand that God-damned Ecklie..

    (Wouldn't be a good actor if I didn't I guess..).

Please let it be door #2..

Ditto. Actually, I think that, in some important ways, "door #1" isn't sustainable. Catherine's personal situation, as others have noted, has gotten worse. She won't be home when her kid gets home from school. Unless CSI is preparing to show MH the door in favor of the Ecklie character, which isn't likely, this arrangement may well be a short-lived one to create some sweeps-period dramatic tension.

What's more the sheriff's problem with Grissom was that of any publicity-seeking alpha male with the more deliberate and smarter people on whom he depends. (Can you tell that I speak from experience?) Gil's timetable didn't suit the sheriff's PR agenda. Ecklie is simply a venal weasel, the kind the audience expects to find under a bus and on the ME's table after a brief-yet-seemingly-interminable period of tormenting our heroes.

What's the worst thing that could happen to a guy like Grissom?

He could wind up with Eckley's job...which is why I think this is exactly what will happen by the end of the season... [IMG]

After watching Miami on Monday night, seems to be a trend with IA or bosses going after Grissom and Caine. Just counting the episodes when they go after Mac in NY.

Basically her conflict of interest and general handling of her father's case, as well as her new found incompetence over the past few seasons.

    What incompetence?

That one incident where she got Greg hurt from leaving that bunson burner on, or whatever the hell happened?

And did she have anything to do with her father's case? I can't remember.. Did she process any evidence?

I don't think there's at all wrong with adding more drama with the character interactions.. Gotta have more than just people running fingerprints and measuring blood-spatter if you want people to keep tuning in..

And Peterson isn't just pissed about the new spin-offs.. He's been qouted many times about how boring it is being Grissom..

She checked his DNA against hers to see if he was her father, which got the case thrown out since it was contaminated evidence.
