Hi, I am just purchasing a Marquee 9501.

I am wondering if I should equipe it with a colour filter for the red. It has one on the green already. Are there any ideas and experiences on that?

If you have plenty of light output, it probably wouldn't hurt to try. It could reduce orangeish reds. Just remember that a filter will reduce the red CRT's light output by around 20%, depending on what filter you use. I'm currently experimenting with a red filter on my Ampro 3300, but I haven't been spending too much time working on it lately. There's numerous threads on AVSForum about the subject. It makes for some interesting reading.

The red probably needs it more than the green, I am not aware of stock marquees that are color-filtered, but regardless, as noted, the CRT forum at AVS is the place for all your answers.
