I am putting together a system in my girlfriends house. I will be using a Yamaha RXV 1200 reciever and five Jamo E5.2 bookshelf speakers with an undetermined powered sub.
The room is pretty small 15' x 13'with a vaulted celling. The Jamo's are very small 3 1/4 inch two ways, but do have a poly mid and silk dome tweeter and sound really impressive for their size and price.

My question is this, because of the size of the speakers the rated low end response in 120hz, the Yamaha's crossover point is fixed at 90hz when running speakers in the small mode. How much risk is there for damaging the speakers? Should I look at replacing the RXV 1200 with a unit that has a more flexible crossover setting so I can set it higher like 100 or 120?

Also any suggestions for a powered sub in the under $400 range for this set up? I was thinkin an 8" would blend much better with these small Jamo's

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
