BN and Criterion haven't allowed general coupons for BN for several years now. Starting Fall 2020, even the member discount is blocked on any 40-50% off items

Since the BN buyout or a bit before BN really cut back on coupons in general and I only see then a few times a year and even those don't work well. The last 20% Off Codes I got took 20% off MSRP (not the current shelf price) so it wouldn't work on anythign 25+% off at all and items that were 15-18% off would only get a few extra pennies more discount using the coupon

Interesting thing about this sale you can preorder Kane and get the discount. What drives me crazy with Criterion is so many great films unreleased. About three years ago I watched a few of the Bulldog Drummond films starring John Howard and really enjoyed them, somehow Criterion has them now they might not be candidates for restoration etc but they would fit nicely in the Eclipse Line, I contacted Criterion and they said eventually we should see them as candidates for release! I would grab them in a heartbeat if released!

In the old days (like 8-10 years ago?), you could often stack 2 (reusable) coupons it seems (plus the 10% member's discount) and get the price down to ~$12 each (for a $40 MSRP title), but that was only in-store I think (and you would probably have to buy a batch of 3 for one of the $50-minimum purchase coupons IIRC... although I also seem to recall some -- not me -- managed to occasionally get to that minimum via the MSRP, instead of the 50%-off sale price, which netted even lower prices )...

I guess a difference b/w this sale and the Flash sale, but it is SOP for B&N sales that anything releasing by the End Date is discounted at the beginning of the sale.

Man, the store that I typically go has its Criterion section cut in half. It used to be nearly both sides of section. Now it's just one full side.
