While it's disappointing, it is not surprising. Criterion has yet to delve into the UHD format.Really disappointed Criterion uses a 4K master but does not give a 4K release , oh and the cover art sucks.

Today, I noticed that "The Great Escape" on iTunes did upgrade from HD to 4K, but without any HDR. I sampled several minutes of it and it looks better than when I watched that digital back in May.As I previously stated, this movie is near and dear to my heart. I bought the iTunes HD digital a couple of years ago during one of their sales so I'll be checking to see if it upgrades to 4K on May 12th. It probably won't, but you never know. I can't wait to watch the Criterion Blu-ray.
