In the dystopian masterpiece Brazil, Jonathan Pryce plays a daydreaming everyman who finds himself caught in the soul-crushing gears of a nightmarish bureaucracy. This cautionary tale by Terry Gilliam, one of the great films of the 1980s, has come to be esteemed alongside antitotalitarian works by the likes of George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, and Kurt Vonnegut. And in terms of set design, cinematography, music, and effects, Brazilis a nonstop dazzler.

Yup, this was a no-brainer since they upgraded Time Bandits and Baron Munchausen already. I've been waiting a long time for this one.

I've enjoyed this movie since 1985, but the $60 list price is giving me sticker shock.

Criterion really should consider adding the theatrical cut in HD to the supplemental disc considering all the extras are SD and $60 MSRP is kind of steep considering they haven't had to produce any new content for the film in 25 years. They've released plenty of 2-disc Blu-rays and 3-disc 4K UHDs with their usual $40/50 MSRPs with way more supplemental content.
