CRITERION OLYMPIA (1 Viewer)

Although I'd love to have the full Criterion 100 YEARS OF OLYMPICS FILMS, such is well beyond
my pocketbook. Does anyone have a clue as to how to obtain only the OLYMPIA disc on Blu-Ray?
All other versions seem to have major flaws. Not terribly hopeful but crossing my fingers nevertheless ...

Me too, except I don't want the whole Olympic set. All I want are good blu-rays of Olympia and Triumph of the Will. I hope Criterion will bring us both.

They haven't said anything about breaking out Olympia as a single release. Peter Becker has said that Tokyo Olympiad will get released on its own (I assume in 2020 to tie in to the Tokyo Olympics.) So I guess it is possible that they will issue Olympia as a stand alone release.

I sent an email to Criterion requesting "Olympia" as a stand alone release. No reply. About a week later..... I found the 100 Years Of Olympic Films blu-ray set listed with a slightly damaged outer box that was marked way down because of the box damage. I purchased it, and I can tell you the new remaster of Olympia is amazing! It looks like they located an absolutely pristine print of the film and then Criterion went to work performing a total digital restoration on top of it. I hope Criterion still releases it as a stand alone release for you guys to enjoy.

I want to point out that the main reason they started breaking up the BBS box was because it looked like Rhino was not going to renew Criterion's license to Head.

...that was three years ago...still in print and Last Picture Show is still box only.

I guess my only chance is that it gets licenced to the UK. Or Spain. Or wherever .....
