Like many Criterion gatherers out there, I have many "original" Criterion DVD releases that have since been replaced with the subsequent Criterion BluRay versions. Question is: Does one purge the original DVD once the BluRay is obtained? I think I remember reading somewhere that some aspect ratios (or certain other features) would sometimes change from DVD to BluRay versions. Is that the case? Are there any specific DVD versions that should be retained, versus others that can safely be purged without looking back?

Thank you!

I know of one Criterion DVD to purge- Sid And Nancy. The DVD is letterboxed, and I’m almost positive all the supplements
(including the excellent actor/historian commentary) is on the BluRay release.

Problem with a wholesale purging is that sometimes the Criterion packaging of their DVD versions is so spectacular compared to the comparative drabness of the Blu ray version.
