Isn’t it better to have them on different Earths? Cause, I mean... Superman is all powerful, and can see and hear anything happening anywhere in the world at all times and always does the right thing. That’s got to be limiting for other shows. Because if, let’s say, Arrow is in trouble, why wouldn’t he just call Superman? Or even if he didn’t, Superman would know he was in trouble.

    The "Arrow" 15-second teaser:

Not if you want to have crossovers!

The Earth-38 Superman is definitely more powerful than Green Arrow, The Flash, any of the Legends of Tomorrow, and Black Lightning. But he's less powerful than other iterations of Superman. He can hear across the city, but he can't hear across the entire planet. He's way stronger than any human, but he's not as strong as some aliens, or even some other Kryptonians. He has a really strong moral compass, but he also has trust issues after many years of superheroics.

If the fate of the world was at stake, Superman would definitely be there. But most of the villains and threats don't rise to that level. For the lower level threats, he'd probably stick to watching over Metropolis.

This picture seems to confirm that this is the Kingdom Come Bruce Wayne/Batman. In the story Batman's body has been so damaged that he needs an exoskeleton suit in order to move. This appears to be what he is wearing.

One of the results in the comic book Crisis is that no one except Psycho Pirate remembered that there had been multiple Earths. I wonder if that will happen on the TV version.

Is the image of Oliver in the Arrow teaser trailer supposed to be of Oliver dying with Barry by his side or is it a mislead ? I assume a mislead since that would be crazy to spoil.

Not quite all powerful in this universe as Supergirl has already emasculated him.

Here is The Crisis Poster, Seems to be mostly existing promo images put together. Not sure why Batwoman gets the most prominent image. Should have been Oliver.

I'm guessing he either never suits up as Superman or they want to save the big reveal of his Superman costume for when the episode airs. Either way, having Tom Welling on the poster in plaid civilian clothes would conjure the right imagery for the poster.

What comic book writers do is to mostly ignore this. Heroes don't request help from each other (or even much from the police), except during big crossover events. They tough it out alone.

For Batman, it goes further. If anyone (including Superman) comes to "his" city, Bruce actively tries to run them off! Hey, what's a few hundred more deaths from Joker venom ("death with a smile"), as long as you get to claim that only you and your allies brought down the Big Bad?

On a slight tangent, consider the revolving door known as Arkham Asylum. This is a place where Joker escapes any time he feels like it, leaving a trail of dead guards. Joker feels so at home there that he has been known to check himself in between crime sprees. This is not an ideal situation if you live in the area and enjoy breathing. So authorities imprisoned Joker in "The Slab", a super-maximum meta-human prison. When Joker was serving time there, he didn't have the opportunity to break out and kill more people. Great news if you're a resident of Gotham, not so great if you're a comic book writer. So of course the writers got him out.

This is why I strongly prefer that Batman exist in a world without other superheroes. He doesn’t make sense in a world where Superman exists.

So far, we've been talking other heroes. But remember, Batman once stared down Darkseid, on Apokolips, without the aid of any powers, or New-Gods-level technology. And won.

“Darkseid” and “Apokolips” - those DC spellings have always made it very difficult for me to take those things as seriously as I’m meant to.

The trailer was good. They did recycle a few seconds from episode 2 of the Flash from earlier this season.
One blogger mentioned the scenes with Lois, Superman, and the baby are on Argo City ( see still in next post) so maybe they have to escape from there due to the Crisis? Would be a throwback to Jor-el and Lara sending baby Kal-el to the Earth though in this case the parents are going with the baby.

In the trailer, when Supergirl says "They're gone" she could be talking about Argo City.

I believe it has been confirmed that Erica Durance will play both Lois Lane and Alura, Supergirl's mom.

The interesting thing about the scheduling is that:
    • Parts One airs a week from Sunday, followed by the Kevin Smith aftershow.
    • Part Two airs the following night, followed by a new regular non-"Crisis"-branded "Black Lightning" episode.
    • Part Three airs the night after that, followed by the Kevin Smith aftershow.
The "Black Lighting" episode, "Chapter Four: Third Stone From the Sun", is likely to be the final chapter in the "Book of Resistance" story arc. And that title sure sounds like it's referring to Earth. So I wouldn't be surprised if it's more of a "Crisis" episode than it initially appears.

I'm also thinking that the impenetrable energy field that the ASA is using to keep Freeland contained and controlled might end up protecting it from the anti-matter wave. So the back half of the season could end up taking place on a different Earth in a different dimension, but the chunk of Freeland inside the perimeter makes the jump. That way "Black Lightning" as a show isn't too impeded from a production standpoint or a storytelling standpoint.

In order news: Business Insider is reporting that the DC Universe version of Stargirl will be introduced during "Crisis". DC Universe and The CW recently announced a joint custody arrangment for "Stargirl".
