Just curious we are having a fight here about a Crib rule. If the last card played equals 31 they get 2 points, if its the last card of the whole round do they get one more point?

No, you cannot double dip. My brother in law and I have been playing for years and we never award 3 points if that is your last card. This from a rules book"

"Please note: it is never possible to score "one for last" and "31 for 2" at the same time. They are alternatives. If you make exactly 31 for two points just peg those two points - you do not get an additional "one for last" in this case."

We've always given three points in that situation. What's the point of even having a "last card for one" if it's not always awarded? What is it, a pity point? Only awarded if you can't score otherwise?
