I finally got around last night to the third of the Creature features, The Creature Walks Among Us. Universal did a splendid job with cleaning the film up and bringing it into high definition. I found the transfer very detailed and a match for the work Universal did on the films in their other Legacy Blu-ray collections.

I just dont understand. No Primary retailer has sold a set with the original disc in nearly 7 months (barely after Labor Day) and it won't die. The corrected sets have been on sale for 3 months and every one of them have the new disc -- arguments can be made over how corrected the disc is, but it;s the way Universal apparently wanted it to look.

I stand corrected and embarrassed for assuming anything with this company -- several people are now reporting that Amazon is indeed still carrying old and new stock items. 2 or 3 confirmed reports that Amazon is shipping at least some Old Stock items that were recalled, there is at least one instance of someone getting an item with a Return Tracking label that was sent back likely in September

Can Amazon get any worse? Just order it cheaper from anyone else.

Repurposing here what I just posted in the Invisible Man + Creature thread -- so my apologies to anyone who may get Deja Vu all over again in reading this:

For anyone ordering this box set new, as opposed to seeking proper replacements for a previously bought defective disc, I'd frankly recommend playing it safe and buying the German set.

Sure, it'll be a few more bucks and a lengthier wait, but at least you're assured of getting a proper 3D rendition of Revenge (and possibly a superior 2D copy for that matter).

I bought both the US and German discs of It Came from Outer Space; while the US disc is just fine, the German disc is noticeably superior. In other words, it's hard to go wrong with the German set.

That's assuming of course that you have a region-free blu-ray player. If you don't..... WTF are you waiting for...?

The German set is interesting, but I don;t think I've seen a direct report of the Koch 2D compared to the Universal.

The nightmare never seems to end

For anyone that ordered the Creature Set recently during the 14.99 sale -- there are now 2 separate reports of items with the 00022 sticker but with the old disc packaged. So if it's important, check the disc ID and/or file date or play it and see if it's corrected.
