Confirmed: James Wan to Direct ‘Creature From the Black Lagoon' Remake — World of Reel

James Wan helming “Creature From the Black Lagoon” has been confirmed (via Deadline ). This could very well be his next film. It’ll be part of Universal’s Monstervse.

Could be interesting with James Wan attached, though the original has never really been a favorite of mine. Wan's long-time associate, Leigh Whannell, just created a good modern version of The Invisible Man (2020) and is now filming Wolf Man, so if Wan is now joining him in that Universal Monsters sandbox, it could be fun.

40 years after I saw the Original Release, I learned that Creature was originally in
3-D when I saw it in 3-D at a local University theater.
I finally learned why the scenes, especially underwater were filmed the way they were.
