Do any of you guys have any creative cable runs? I'm in an apartment and am thinking about putting a tapistry on the wall behind my listening position so I can run speaker cable up and out to wall mounted surrounds without too much unsightly cable.
What creative things have you guys done to hide your cables when you don't own the place you live in?

There is usually space under the baseboards, where the carpet ends. Depending on your room, it may be more practical to put the receiver and stuff near the couch, and run the cables for your TV and fronts on one wall. This will make the surrounds cables shorter.

Also, you could tack one cable up to your ceiling and over to the other side (this works good over a doorway), or put it under your carpet. This depends a lot on the quality of your place, but if you can get one corner of the carpet up and then one side, you could do a sort of tug-of-war and move the cable to where the surrounds will be.

    Have fun!
