Yes, Raven killed two people early on so he had to die by the end of the movie.

Edie's comments were treasurable as always, and the film was definitely not HD though it looked fine (windowboxed main titles).

Laird Cregar desperately wanted to be a leading man and not just a character heavy, so he went on a crash diet and lost a ton of weight, but it weakened his heart and he died of a heart attack very young at 31.

It was an error that really stood out, because he didn't just misspeak, he gave a detailed comment that just wasn't true.

"He's a federal agent tracking fascist 5th columnists in California." He was a police lieutenant assigned to a robbery while on vacation. I mean they're not even close...

You hit it right on the head - that's exactly why they were always paired together. He was so short they needed a woman shorter and she fit the bill.

It's sad to watch it and realize that between Ladd, Lake, and Creger, nobody lived past 50. The way Ladd lost his mother a few years before was equally sad.

    Noir, indeed.

I don't think Eddie watches some of these movies recently, thus, goes by his memory of it which can lead to mistakes from mis-remembering stuff. He's at that age in which it happens quite a lot.:)

This afternoon I got bored watching some horrible NFL games playing on my local channels so I watched the iTunes 4K Digital of "Red Heat" (1988) starring Arnold and Jim Belushi. A typical 1980's action/buddy movie with questionable story line. The 4K/Dolby Vision video presentation was better than I remembered this movie ever looked on home video beforehand. Hell, it looks better now than what I remembered how it looked in a movie theater.;)

I watched "Anna" (2019) today on iTunes in 4K/Dolby Vision with Atmos audio. A pleasant surprise for me as I totally enjoyed this film with so many twists and turns about a female assassin/spy.

Well, no more Noir Alley for awhile for me. I couldn’t get logged into the TCM app and discovered the reason — Comcast has moved TCM to a more expensive package. Lots of unhappy customers, including me. I am locked in with them until next spring, but it looks like it is time to investigate the streaming alternatives like Hulu Live, Sling, etc.

There is no way I can live without the TCM channel. I never liked Comcast as a provider so I would never give them my business.

And I also commiserate with Scott about his TCM dilemma. It is the one channel I don't think I want to do without. I have it as the channel that comes on when I turn on my cable box because I'm always interested in their offerings both presently and in the future.

I'm like you. TCM is my default channel; and like Robert, no can do without it. It's a prerequisite for a provider.

What really pisses me off is that I made a two year commitment with Comcast for a certain service for a certain price. I cannot downgrade my service during that period, yet they just downgraded me by moving TCM to a more expensive tier. That's just not right.

All I can do, though, is move on when my commitment is completed. I am sure there is some legal ground to stand on if I left early, but who has the resources to fight that with a huge company?

I thought I watched it in the past year, but can't find any mention of my viewing in this thread. I'll probably watch my Arrow Blu-ray again and listen to its audio commentary.

I didn't have the movie, but I just ordered the Arrow Blu-ray edition. Sure, I'll see the movie tomorrow, but I'll have a copy of it soon for my video library. Can't believe I didn't already have it.
