    The Criterion Channel's September Lineup.

Kino is selling some of these French films on Blu-ray so this is an opportunity to watch some of them before purchasing any of them as blind buys.

Crawdaddy, if you're up for it, try to solve this challenge:

Election day in 2008 (in the U.S.) was memorable/historic. Because it was a Tuesday, you may also remember Election Day 2008 as the day a long-awaited box set of films was released on DVD. I'm sure it was a day-one for you. Do you remember which box set it was?

I'm remembering a different set. It was one of your two favorite genres, film noir or westerns.

I'm remembering it was the Randolph Scott/Budd Boetticer set.

Yeah, I had that DVD boxset, but got rid of it for the BD set except for the DVD that has the Boetticer documentary. I kept that one DVD.

Man, those SVS Prime speakers are mighty impressive as I sampled various movies throughout yesterday afternoon. Those blemishes on the two tower speakers are barely noticeable. I really had to look to find them. The few blemishes looked better in my presence than the actual photos of them that I observed before deciding to purchase them from SVS. At first glance you would think there are no defects whatsoever and it took me more than a few minutes to find those couple of very slight defects. The center speaker had no blemishes and performance-wise it puts to shame the Polk center speaker it replaced. The same for the two tower speakers and their Polk predecessors. I'm a very happy camper with this latest HT purchase.

What’s really strange is DVD Profile has the Sabu box set and the 2 other dvds from the set, but seemingly not Jungle Book, unless it only comes up via UPC.

I'm watching the movie on the Criterion channel right night and it's a shame this beautiful looking Technicolor movie isn't on a properly released Blu-ray in Region A.

I need a Criterion Channel recommendation, Robert.

With the exception of John Wick 3, I am watching crap these days.

Ron, are you a fan of Barbara Stanwyck? If so you might want to check out "Baby Face" an early Stanwyck film that runs counter to her Victoria Barkley role.:) It's a short film at about 75 minutes. You'll see a young John Wayne in it too as this film was made in 1933.

I'll get back to you with some other recommendations.
