In my area, Cox cable is going to roll out HD service in June. I subscribe to digital cable and I have an SPDIF output on my digital box, what are the chances of Dolby Digital 5.1 being available for those of us without HD and just regular digital cable?

you should already have access to the DD5.1 audio from the spdif coax connector. i did before i got HD cable. just hook it up to the a/v receiver and check it out. i get lots of DD2.0 and 5.1 stuff.
