I like it. I didnt even know there was going to be a Special Edition.
Wait a minute...Madonna got second billing?! Her role wasn't *that* big. Or important. This is Geena's movie as far as I'm concerned...and she was great in it. I'm looking forward to this special edition. Any word on extras yet?
Madonna always gets toplined on this movie. I remember her being on the theatrical poster, too. Plus she has that song that plays over the credits. I wish Tom Hanks would play more characters along these lines, too. I love his performance in this movie.
This two-disc special edition will come with an anamorphic transfer, director & cast audio commentary, 15 deleted scenes (with introductions by director Penny Marshall), "Nine Memorable Innings" documentary, Madonna's "This Used To Be My Playground" music video and trailers.
Wow, looks like I'll be getting it for sure. Tom Hanks sure did play a great role. That scene where he first meets the girls and Rosie times him peeing is a classic.
Madonna's name stands out more on the cover than Tom Hanks'.
It's to be expected... sadly. Well, I'll be looking for this one. I love this movie. "May's gonna poison her dinner."
I am drooling all over this. Wonder if that documentary was the same one released on Laserdisc and VHS.
Glad I held off buying the original version. I'll be picking this one up for sure.
No Kidding. Great movie, and he's awesome in it.
Since when is having MADONNA in your movie a good thing?!? Columbia - get with the times, people!
I like the original cover better.
I prefer the original cover art too... Thank you Patrick, for the info on the extras.
Great Movie! not sure if i am going to upgrade though.
What's the release date?
I believe the release date is April 20th
"Avoid the clap. Jimmy Dugan." I love this movie. I'm glad I waited on this one. I will be picking this up for sure.
I don't agree that Madonna deserved second billing, but she acquits herself quite well in this movie, giving a better performance than in her others by a long shot.
Madonna's listed third on the cover of the first DVD release. Sounds like a winner of a 2-disc SE to me. (I wonder if the back panel of the packaging on the SE will actually tell us any specs. The initial DVD says absolutely *Zilch* re. specifications/info, which I always thought was rather curious. )
