    What are PCM and Bitstream?

Also, I juse got a Denon 3803 (love it so far) but, while the manual does a good job of explaining how to do everything, it lacks definitions for some things (hence above question). My specific question is why does it's display always have "Multi" lit up? What does that mean?

Maybe we should start a Denon 3803 "Support" Thread! Would that go against the mods wants?

Pulse Code Modulation is a bitstream, or a stream of "bits".

Digital info streaming out of something into something else.

PCM is the method of encoding, much like dts or DD are other ways of encoding audio, and they themselves, when being sent, are bit-streams.

No idea on the multi - usually indicates some kind of soundfield is active. Direct mode will bypass that, if you have that mode.
