I know, I know, I hate the Star Wars threads too, but I just thought of something.

If I recall correctly, isn't the reason that Lucas is holding off on the DVDs, attributed to the fact that he wants to devote time to the special features?

Well, DVHS doesn't offer special features, so the only issue would be a transfer of the film itself.

So, isn't it entirely possible that we will see The Star Wars Trilogy on DVHS, before DVD?

I personally don't care too much either way, and actually would understand the rationalization behind it.

Just something to think about.

It's extremely doubtful Star Wars will see a release on DVHS period. So my answer would be no. But I don't think anyone would hold it against you if you dreamed about it.:D

You can do the same thing with DVD. Studios release bare bones DVDs all the time and follow them up with SE's (and sometimes follow the SE's up with Super SE's). In any event, DVHS does offer special features:multi audio tracks (for DD and DTS and audio commentary) are a feature and there is no reason why you can't add documentaties, deleted scenes, trailers etc. The Studios just don't offer them as yet, is all.
